How it works

You describe the task and give us root access to the server and database. We take it from there.

  1. 1

    Audit

We collect metrics and parameters and assess the current state of the server.

  2. 2

    Plan

We analyze the data, prepare an improvement plan, agree it with you and pick a convenient time.

  3. 3

    Work

We back up the old configs before any change and stay strictly within the scope of the task.

  4. 4

    Report

We re-measure, compare before and after, and hand the result over to you.

Three-layer monitoring

  • Availability

Nagios checks your server and services from outside and reports access problems.

  • Services

Monit watches processes and restarts them if they fail, with a handy web UI.

  • Events

Munin keeps history from 5 minutes to a year back — load and bottlenecks at a glance.

In an emergency the servers send alerts, and on-duty engineers respond around the clock.

FAQ

I'm afraid to give you server access. Can you just tell me what to do and I'll run it myself?

Unfortunately that costs a lot of time in communication: a 5-minute task for an engineer turns into hours. The result of “setup by screenshot” is unpredictable, so we don't work that way.

What about security and data leaks?

In all our years we have never had a leak while administering servers. Responsibility is fixed in an NDA. For one-off jobs we use one-time passwords and ask you to rotate access when we're done.

What is your area of responsibility?

We work strictly within the task and only with configuration files and server settings. We are not responsible for code, database contents or site content, and only touch them with the client's approval.

Why are all prices “from”?

The scope isn't always clear upfront, so a manager agrees the budget with you. Most tasks are done at the minimum rate: we've solved similar ones many times and spend little time on them.

How do we communicate with engineers?

Engineers and on-duty admins are available around the clock on Telegram. We work as a “single window”, so you can come back even years later — someone is always there.

My servers are all different and the project is complex. Can you handle it?

We are not afraid of complex projects. We've seen all kinds of configurations and legacy left by previous admins, and built a set of standard practices to bring everything in order. Internally we call it “bringing to DSS standards”.

A team that's always reachable

We're a team of experienced professionals who love what they do. Engineering work on servers is done during the day, 8:00–20:00 Moscow time. In the evening and at night our on-duty admins are online: if something breaks they reach the engineers right away and fix it together.
